Choosing the Right Tool for Greater Efficiency
The ramming machine and the ramming vehicle act as the "left and right hands" of the metallurgical workshop:

  • Ramming machines are ideal for precision work in confined spaces; models with adjustable impact frequency offer greater flexibility.
  • Ramming vehicles are suited for large-area processing; ensure the hydraulic system pressure remains stable during operation.
  • For mixed-use scenarios, it is recommended to level the material with the vehicle first, then refine the surface with the machine.

 

Three Golden Rules of Operation

  • Angle Control: Maintain a 60° angle between the ramming rod and the furnace charge; avoid vertical impacts that could damage the furnace lining.
  • Layered Processing: Limit the thickness of each layer to no more than 15 cm; compact the material layer by layer, much like making a mille-feuille (layered cake).
  • Temperature Monitoring: If the furnace temperature exceeds 400°C, allow for cooling intervals to prevent the tool from overheating and deforming.

 

Secrets to Extending Equipment Lifespan
Paying attention to these details can add three years to your equipment's service life:

  • Clean off adhered slag after every operation to prevent corrosion.
  • Check the ramming rod for wear weekly and replace it promptly.
  • Change the hydraulic oil every 500 hours; select a high-viscosity grade for summer use.
  • Release hydraulic system pressure when the equipment is stored for extended periods.
