1. Preparation
- Check hydraulic system pressure (typically 18–22 MPa).
- Verify electrode paste column height (maintain at 2.5–3 m).
- Measure the length of the electrode's working end (according to smelting process requirements).
2. Slip Operation
① Release the electrode holder (reduce pressure to below 5 MPa)
② Activate the hydraulic slip mechanism (single stroke: 150–200 mm)
③ Monitor current fluctuations (maintain within ±5% of rated current)
④ Lock the holder (restore pressure to above 15 MPa)
3. Key Parameters
- Slip frequency: Once every 2–4 hours
- Slip distance per operation: Not to exceed 1/8 of the electrode diameter
- Electrode consumption rate: Reference value of 8–12 cm/h (for ferrosilicon furnaces)
4. Safety Protocols
- Do not adjust furnace charge simultaneously during the slip operation
- Stop the slip operation immediately if abnormal current is detected
- Apply emergency braking if electrode slippage exceeds 30 mm
