1. Product Description
The main function of the silicon ladle (i.e., the container used for holding molten silicon, commonly referred to as a hot metal ladle or silicon ladle) is to receive and transport high-temperature molten silicon during the tapping process, ensuring production continuity and operational safety.
Refractory materials for silicon ladles are consumable materials in the smelting industry. Under normal operating conditions, the permanent lining of a silicon-based hot metal ladle has a service life of approximately two years, while the working lining generally has a service life ranging from 1 to 8 months. The service life is closely related to factors such as design, material configuration, casting and ramming construction, baking process, and maintenance by production personnel.
Our company has been deeply engaged in the refractory materials industry for submerged arc furnace smelting for more than 20 years. Based on different smelting processes and operating conditions in various regions, we have conducted extensive research on the damage conditions and mechanisms of silicon ladles. In response to the current widespread issues in silicon plants, such as high risk of ladle burn-through and short service life, the optimized silicon ladle developed by our company offers the following advantages:
A double-layer design is adopted. The permanent layer serves as an anti-leakage layer, which can greatly reduce or completely prevent safety accidents caused by ladle burn-through.
A special gas permeable brick design for silicon metal applications is adopted, effectively reducing the problems of blockage and short service life associated with traditional oxygen blowing through steel pipes.
The working lining of the ladle wall adopts carbon-containing composite materials. In response to the intensified smelting processes currently used by silicon metal producers to achieve higher productivity and better product quality, it can effectively withstand harsh operating conditions such as high molten silicon temperature, strong alkali metal erosion, and long refining duration.
